About Carmela Alexandra Fang

25+ Years of Experience

Working at an Import & Export/Wholesaler company for over 25 years, gave me the opportunity to learn so much from the business industry and the privilege to work with people from many countries around the world.

I started as a Sales Specialist, then as an Accounting & Shipping Clerk. Next, I was promoted as a

Chief Cashier and assigned to supervise the implementation and testing of the new

Accounting and Inventory System due to my knowledge in Computer Science.

Following, I advanced as an Account Manager of the international accounts for Central and South America, the Caribbean, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

Later, I accepted a position as a Purchasing Manager and performed as a Web Master

redesigning the company's website and maintaining the online-store platform.

Lastly, I was promoted as an Accounting Manager and once again assisted implementing a new

accounting system, Quickbooks Enterprise.

In conclusion, I’ve had many different experiences that have built me into the skilled professional I am today, including my training in computer science where I acquired a special set of soft skills:

Analytical & Critical Thinking + Problem-Solving + Detail-Oriented

Organizational Skills + Time Management + Resilience

Furthermore, I have been working at Miami-Dade County Finance Department for 5 years.

I accepted a position as an Accountant 1, then as an Accounts Payable Compliance Specialist, following promoted as an Accountant 2 - Supervisor, and currently as an

Accountant 3 - Supervisor of the Account Payable Compliance Section.

Yet, I am always looking for new challenges within the accounting field and hope to venture even

further down my chosen career path. Find out more about me by getting in touch.

Soft Skills

My skills have been built up over years of professional work experience as well as research and simple observation.

I have a great balance between industry-specific skills and soft skillswhich means I have what it takes to do brilliant work and make a contribution to any team.

Brainstorm to Success

Analytical Thinking

Being an accounting major with a computer analytical background help me to identify a problem and come up with a technological solution.
This requires having strong analytical skills that will enable me to understand the issue you are dealing with and evaluate different solutions in order to find the one that best fits your needs.

Social network concept

Problem Solving

One of the key skills I acquired as a computer and accounting major is the ability to solve complex problems in a systematic and logical way. This is because most of the projects require me to take a concept and turn it into a reality. Applying my knowledge and experience, I am able to think about the best way to execute the project and then outline the steps needed to get it done.

3 Gears

Critical Thinking

I work on a variety of projects and use a variety of methodologies, so knowing which methodologies to use (and when to use them) is an essential part of getting the job done.
I apply my critical-thinking skills to assess why certain solutions might not work and to save time in coming up with the right approach.

1 Day Stained Glass Workshop

Creativity

Creativity goes hand in hand with problem solving and it’s one of the other key skills I developed as a computer science major. Since coming up with solutions to problems is almost never a straightforward process, I often apply out-of-the-box thinking in order to ensure that I would deliver the most innovative and effective solutions.

Stones of Meaning

Resilience

One of the key tenets of programming is understanding that I'm most likely going to fail before I succeed. This has nothing to do with my programming abilities and everything to do with the process itself. Programming involves trying out different elements of code until I find the best solution and learning to be resilient, determined and humble in the face of multiple failures is part of the process. This had taught me to be always positive in difficult situations.
